Guess where I'm going in August... tic toc...... tic toc..... Ok, I'll tell you. I just made reservations for Janis and I to go to the Freedom Concert in Dallas, Texas August 21, 2010. I also just made our motel reservations and it is within walking distance to the concert, actually it is less than 500 feet from where the concert is to be held. Charlie Daniels, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Michael W. Smith will be there. Oliver North will be speaking as well as Sean Hanity, I don't know who else will be there but this should be a terrific evening for Janis and I, plus the profits go to a very worthy cause, to help the children of our heroes that has lost their lives in the war on terrorism.

Good morning everyone. It's a nice 44 degrees outside, 34 degrees would be better but I will take what I can get :) Two more days this week and I'll be off for four, go back for four be on stand by for three of those then out for three, then the new year starts and it all starts all over again....... ouch! Several of you sent me Christmas Cards in the past couple of days, I wasn't expecting that this year, I wanted to say that it was a pleasant surprise and also to say thank you :)
Hope everyone has a wonderful day today, Christmas is only three days away, our family celebrates it in two, wonder if I'll ever get used to that.

Christmas is on the way. We will be having our family Christmas celebration on Thursday with the family as a whole. Janis, Jennifer and myself of course will have a smaller celebration on Christmas Day. This is new to us but as families change the way you do things has to change as well.
There's a frost out this morning and right now it's 39 degrees :) hope you all have a wonderful day.

Dear Santa...
Dear Santa,
This year I've been busy!
In January I stole robinsky's purse (-30 points). Last Saturday I set stimmons's puppy on fire (-66 points). Last Thursday I helped seashell55 see the light (8 points). Last Monday I turned msajiva in for spitting (3 points). Last Tuesday I had a shoot-out with rival gang lords on the 5 near LA (-76 points).
Overall, I've been naughty (-161 points). For Christmas I deserve a lump of coal!
Sincerely, patriot |

They may want to take Christ out of Christmas, but they can never take Christ out of me. If you are proud to be a Christian and are not ashamed of Christ then post this on your LJ for 1 day as a light to the world. Christ's birth is the whole reason we celebrate Christmas...not santa! Most people will be to ashamed or scared to do this

Happy Weekend everyone. We are getting our Christmas Turkey ready to put on the smoker. We are also going to smoke a brisket and some chicken while we are at it to put in the freezer, which means we are going to be busy beavers today. Should all be good though when it's done. Right now it's 8:48AM and 43 degrees, my kind of temps :) on the other hand if it were ten degrees cooler I would like that too :)
Hope everyone has a terrific weekend.

Good morning everyone. It's 43 degrees and not even daylight yet, all I can say is WOW! I just love these cool temps. A former Mayor of our city and friend of mine died yesterday. His name, Fred Baden. He was a man that refused to compromise on his principles which always made me wonder why he never left the Democratic Party. Mayor Baden was physically sound and socially moral and the Democratic Party machine stayed after him for that for years. He held to his guns and they held to theirs. As is always the case with liberals going against conservatives they were always trumping charges against the man, he was accused of every awful thing you could think of under the sun. Today those same liberals are saying what a great man he was, abolutly wouldn't say it while he was alive though, to be Democrat and Conservative is unforgivable.
Mayor Baden brought our city out of the stone age and into the twentieth century during his 28 years as mayor. We had almost no water, nearly nothing for sewer and our city streets were just pig trails. No businesses would even consider coming to our city. When he left office we had paved streets, many of them with a turning lane several four lane streets, more water than we can drink or use and a state of the art sewer and treatment facility. Businesses are coming here and flourishing with more on the way. I will miss my old friend.

http://www.lifeintheoffice.com/2009/12/18/2350/ I meant to post this yesterday as a reminder to tune in to The Tonight Show last night as our very own Jim Halpert was a guest on Conan O’Brain’s couch. Although not in character, we were treated to some very funny Jim faces as well as a unique Marrionette impression, which I believe should be added to John Krasinski’s resume as one of his many talents. We also get a sneak peak at his new movie It’s Complicated opening next Friday. In case you missed it, here are the clips.
Enjoy ~

Good morning everyone. Below I have copied my e-mail to Senator Landrieu concerning the health care debate. I urge each one of you to write your senators as well. Thanks,
Senator Landrieu,
I've been needing to write to you ever since you cast that embarrassing vote to allow the Healthcare Bill to be open for debate, your vote and what it took to get your vote has made Louisiana the laughing stock of the nation once again. As a citizen and your constituent I was and am very upsett about that vote. Now I'm learing that you intend to vote for passage of the healthcare bill. If you do vote in favor of this healthcare bill that will be the vote that I can never forget or forgive which means that I could never vote for you or anyone you endorse. AS a citizen that you represent I urge you to represent me as well as the other near 70 percent that feel the way I do and vote against the healthcare bill.
Also, every time I write to you asking you to vote against a measure you wait until after the vote to answer me and then start explaing why you voted against the will of the people you represent. Please do not insult me in that fasion again, if you can't answer my e-mail before the vote please do not answer it at all.
A Real Voter That Does Remember

http://www.lifeintheoffice.com/2009/12/16/new-york-city-icity-new-york-and-the-office/ Hi, Kevin here. A few weeks back (maybe more) I asked Bob if I could do a New York version of his great column “Scrantonicity”. Since I am from New York and I love when they show the Dunder-Mifflin headquarters in the show, it would be a natural. Bob agreed and I started writing.
Then I got busy and sidetracked (and lazy). After a lot of research it sat there, unfinished. But then yesterday, I got an email from Bob, asking me to finish it up and post it. He was looking forward to it and he thought it could be fun. I got mad at myself. I’d let it slip. Well, because of Bob’s cajoling (or ass-kicking, depending on how you wish to phrase it), I said “Screw it!” and banged it out (TWSS). So here is the very first “New York City-icity”, reviewing how the Big Apple has appeared in The Office.

Lot of truth here!
If a conservative doesn't like guns, he doesn`t buy one. If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.
If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn`t eat meat. If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for Everyone.
If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life. If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.
If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his Situation. A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.
If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels. Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down.
If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church. A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced. (Unless it's a foreign religion, of course!)
If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for It, or may choose a job that provides it. A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.
If a conservative reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a Good laugh. A liberal will delete it because he's "offended".

Now this is what I'm talking about, it's not daylight yet and the temp is 40 degrees :) Now we're getting some where winter wise :) Have I mentioned that I hate summer and love winter? If not let me mention it now :)
It's the Christmas season and tensions seem to be running in the air, depression seems to be running rampet this year, more so than most years. The Holidays should be a joyous season due to the true meaning and yet I look around and see so much hurt in so many families. May our Lord and Savior rein this season in the lives of all that love Him.

oh my gosh. this is really it. no more going back. everything is in (or on its way, at least.) all of the information is filled out, all of the essays are written, all of the supplements are sent in, all the test scores and transcripts are uploaded. it's really finished. it's all really there. all before the deadline, too. everything is falling into place. absolutely everything. i can't believe it's really happening. i'm so nervous/excited/scared/ecstatic/already homesick/anxious/bubbly/AH! *fingers crossed* i want this more than i have ever wanted anything in my entire life, and i will do anything it takes to get it. i've done all i can do now. and the waiting begins.
...yuck.
please, God, just let us tie. please, please, please. i've worked so hard. please, let us tie, God, please. amen.

http://www.lifeintheoffice.com/2009/12/15/scrantonicity-secret-santa/ As “The Office” Season 6 progresses, the once-prolific local Scranton references keep dwindling down and downer. The show still features quality writing, but they seem to have gotten away from the charming “verisimilitude” of the past. (Thanks for the big word, loyal LITO-reader Dave!) Well, as far as the near-total lack of local Scranton references is concerned, and my response… I’m going to quote Andy here, as he discusses his ongoing pursuit of Erin: “I suppose a gentleman might… throw in the towel at this point. Guess what? Not gonna happen.”

The vast majority of those who fought and died for the southern Confederacy had little in worldly goods and comforts. Neither victory nor defeat would have greatly altered their lot. Yet for four long years they waged one of the bloodiest wars in history. They fought for a principle: the right to live life in a chosen manner. This dedication to a cause drove them to achieve a moment of greatness, which endures to this day.

Sixty degrees and raining, WOW what a place to live. If I could earn a living there I would move to Arkansas. They actually have winter weather there, the people are friendly, what I like to call that good ole southern hospitality and the lay of the land is beautiful. In other words if I were in Mean, Arkansas this morning it wouldn't be 60 degrees and the mountains would be beautiful :) although it may or may not be raining...... LOL
Hope everyone has a terrific day today

Happy Lord's Day everyone! It's a wonderful day to be saved and to go to His House and worship Him as only He deserves.
I was just reading an article in the liberal rag. It was about the trial that I was called as a potential juror for. The article said that the jury deliberated for fourteen minutes and came back and returned a guilty verdict on both the molestation of a Juvenal and incest charges. The article said that the defendant could get as much as 35 years in prison for those convictions. Personally, I think he should get the death penalty especially since both of the girls involved were his own daughters.

A Montana rancher got in his pickup and drove to a neighboring ranch and knocked at the door. A young boy, about 9, opened the door "Is your Dad home?" the rancher asked. "No sir, he isn't," the boy replied. "He went into town." "Well," said the rancher, "Is your Mother here?" "No sir, she's not here either. She went into town with Dad." "How about your brother, Howard? Is he here?" "No sir, He went with Mom and Dad." The rancher stood there for a few minutes, shifting from one foot to the other and mumbling to himself. "Is there anything I can do for you?" the boy asked politely. "I know where all the tools are, if you want to borrow one. Or maybe I could take a message for Dad." "Well," said the rancher uncomfortably, "I really wanted to talk to your Dad. It's about your brother Howard getting my daughter, Suzie, pregnant."' The boy considered for a moment. "You would have to talk to Pa about that," he finally conceded. "If it helps you any, I know that Pa charges $500 for the bull and $50 for the hog, but I really don't know how much he gets for Howard."

Happy Weekend everyone! It's a nice 45 degree morning here, however the down side is that it's raining, but I'll take the cool temps rain or shine :) I don't really have too much going today. I do have to go over to the cell phone company and get them to reverse some charges that they billed my credit card for.
When I got home yesterday I finished making the faucet covers for two of my outside faucets. I've got to make another one for the faucet that is on the side of the house. On that one I think that I'm going to buy two from the store and cut one of them off and glue the cut off piece that pulls against the side of the house to the other one. That particular faucet stands out from the wall farther than the average faucet does. The other two or faucets that I added a couple of years ago, both of them are pipes that come out of the ground with a faucet on the end. One of them is by the wall of the house and the other is by a fence. What I did on those two is by some cheap six inch sewer pipe and some six inch end caps, cut the sewer pipe to fit from the ground to just above the top of the faucets and glue an end cap on each. Now I can wrap those faucets with an old rag, put the pipe over them and they are protected from the harsh Louisiana weather...LOL... then when I need to use one of them I just pull the pipe off of it, take the rag off and start using water:) I've been wrapping all my faucets for years, which means I wait to the very last minute to wrap them because I use them and then once I wrap them it's a big deal to use an outside faucet.

http://www.lifeintheoffice.com/2009/12/11/secret-santa-suris-recap/ I find myself in a bit of an awkward position recapping this episode, as it was highly religion based, although not my religion. However, I’ll set that issue aside and say that I did enjoy this episode as it had a lot of light-spirited moments as well as advancing the story by answering some important questions regarding the fate of Dunder Mifflin as a company. I hope you all don’t mind a few abbreviations and such. Well, here goes:
Dwight starts off the episode with a rather loud yet still effective announcement, “Jim and I, on behalf of the Party Planning Committee…” One would think, now that Jim is co-manager, he would be able to appoint some other poor fool to serve on the PPC in his stead. However, I suppose one would be wrong in thinking that. So it seems that Jim and Dwight are still stuck co-chairing the famous PPC. Moving on, Dwight wishes everyone a Merry Christmas from him and Jim.
